Sky High Reggae and Dogtown Roadhouse presents the Reggae Takeover, A Fundraiser for the Artists of Asheville and Backpack Art Program on Saturday, October 5, 2024.

Performance Schedule:
• 5:00-8:00 PM: Reggae Music with Lazy Man Dub and DJ Ruby Star
• 8:00-11:00 PM: Barthio Dance Party

The Sky High Reggae Takeover is an annual fundraiser with Lazy Man Dub Band Quartet, DJ Ruby Star and an epic dance party with Barthio! This is a donation appreciated event with donations this year benefitting Sky High Reggae's Backpack Art Program and Artists of Asheville. We will be purchasing art supplies with the donations and redistributing them to Asheville, North Carolina families that have lost their homes and professional artists that have lost their studios during Hurricane Helene.

We will be collecting monetary donations, gently used/nicely repackaged art supplies and art related gift cards (Michael’s or Dick Blick).

Enjoy reggae music from The Lazy Man Dub Band and Roots Reggae & Dub selecta DJ Ruby Star from 5:00-8:00 PM along with Barthio of the Family Tree Collective hosting a Dance Party from 8:00-11:00 PM.

The Lazy Man Dub Band came together in Fall of 2007 by a happy set of fortunate circumstances. Starting with Roanoke, Virginia, the band has been laying down the jams all across the state and leaving in its wake an exploding fan base.

Constantly evolving as a group, Lazy Man relentlessly experiments with their sound, by bringing new and different arrangements to the table each night. No two Dub shows will leave you feeling the same.

Rehearsing in a basement studio in the valleys of southwest Virginia and travelling to everywhere, The Lazy Man Dub Band is bringing roots rock reggae to the masses, one party at a time.
