The Lyric Theatre presents the 2025 Giovanni-Steger Poetry Prize with a Ceremony and Reception on Wednesday, April 2, 2025.

Student finalists from across the university will take center stage. The Giovanni-Steger Poetry Prize ceremony, held in honor of the late Nikki Giovanni, will celebrate the power of poetry and creativity. A beloved poet, educator, and University Distinguished Professor Emerita, Giovanni’s legacy continues to inspire generations of writers and artists.

The event is free and open to the public with a reception to follow.

The Lyric Theatre is located at 135 College Avenue in Blacksburg, VA.
