Radford University College of Visual & Performing Arts presents the play "Silent Sky" with five performances starting on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 through Sunday, October 1, 2023 inside the Bondurant Auditorium located within Preston Hall on the campus of Radford University.

Astronomer Henrietta Leavitt goes to work at the Harvard Observatory at a time when women were not even allowed to touch the telescope. As Henrietta set about measuring the distances to remote galaxies, she must also take measure of her place in the universe as a scientist, sister, lover, and as a woman.

Playwright Lauren Gunderson says her wildly popular play "is about the glory and hard work of science…a story of family, both the ones we are born with and the ones we choose. It’s the story of sisterhood and, yes, a little bit of old-fashioned boy meets girl as well." Based on a true story, this beautiful play has a heart as vast as the heavens. Don’t miss it!
