2025 Giles Kids Fishing Day Event for Ages 3-15

The Giles Kid's Fishing Day Committee hosts the 22nd Annual Giles Kids Fishing Day event on Saturday, May 3, 2025 at the Narrows Town Park.

Event Schedule:
• 8:00 AM: Gates Open
• 9:00 AM: Fishing begins for ages 3-8
• 9:30 AM - 2:00 PM: Fishing for All Ages
• 10:00 AM - 1:30 PM: Kids Zone

This event is an important and positive influence on the children of this community. Our goal is to educate them on the joys of fishing and the dangers of drugs. We want to ensure that the children of Narrows and surrounding communities know that there are far better activities to participate in than drug use.

The first 400 kids will receive a free shirt and gift. There are over 200 golden ticket prizes the will be awarded as well. Trophies will be awarded for the biggest fish caught for both boy and girls for the age groups 3-8 and 9-15. There will also be kids activities for all ages in the Kids Zone which will be open from 10:00 AM to 1:30 PM next to the pickleball court under the shelter.

• Face Painting
• Giant Block Building
• Bubble Station
• Free Books
• Balloon Animals
• Games
• and more

Food will be available from the Narrows Volunteer Fire Department and Scoops Ice Cream. The first 400 kids will get a free ice cream ticket at the gate for a complimentary cool treat from Scoops. Food will open at 10:00 AM.

No fishing license is required for kids to fish during this event. Adults are not permitted to fish, but may assist your children. Fishing licenses are required and go back into effect starting at 2:00 PM when the event ends.
This is a free event for ages 3-15 years. You do not need to live in Giles County to participate.

Gates open at 8:00 AM and fishing starts at 9:00 AM for ages 3-8 and 9:30 AM for ages 9-15.

The rain date will be on Sunday, May 4th if necessary.
