Summer Musical Enterprise presents "The Wizard Of Oz" with six performances at the Center for The Arts at Virginia Tech starting on Wednesday, August 6, 2025 and continuing through Sunday, August 10, 2025.

This timeless story of Dorothy’s journey through the magical land of Oz has captivated audiences for generations, and we can’t wait to share this enchanting tale with a whole new audience. From the iconic characters like the Scarecrow, Tin Man, and Cowardly Lion to the unforgettable songs like “Somewhere Over the Rainbow,” this production is sure to bring joy and wonder to all who experience it.

This will be another revival show for us! Our first production of The Wizard of Oz was in 1997!

Join us this summer as we follow Dorothy down the yellow brick road, where she learns valuable lessons about friendship, courage, and the power of believing in oneself.

Tickets ranges from $20.00-$40.00 each depending on seating location along with Family Pack of Four Tickets for $50.00 ($12.50 each).

The Summer Musical Enterprise (SME) was formed in the fall of 1992 as a result of the production of The Music Man. SME has produced a major musical every summer from 1992 to present.

The organization has attempted to provide a musical theatre outlet for families in the area and is structured to allow all members of a family to be involved in the production. The opportunity for the youth to be involved in the productions provides a rich learning environment that is consistent with the creative fabric of our community.
