Jennifer Pharr Davis (Entertainer)

Biography:

Jennifer Pharr Davis is the National Geographic's Adventurer of the Year and a critically acclaimed author of eight books. She has hiked more than 14,000 miles of trails on six different continents. In 2011 she set the overall fastest known time on the Appalachian Trail by finishing the 2,185-mile foot path in 46 days (an average of 47 miles a day). And she hasn't slowed down since.

Jennifer Pharr Davis is a lover of long trails and good stories who has inspired women and men across the country with her message that "the trail is there for everyone at every phase of life." She has made a name for herself both as a record setting hiker, Adventurer of the Year, and as a writer who has penned numerous books and articles for the New York Times, Outside, and Backpacker. She was featured in last year's IMAX film Into America's Wild narrated by Morgan Freeman and was recently selected for the President's Council for Sports, Fitness and Nutrition.
