Idlewild South (Band)
Biography:
Idlewild South is The Allman Brothers Band Tribute. Idlewild South has been sharing the music of The Allman Brothers Band throughout the East Coast, South and Midwest since 2012. We have played everything from Honky-Tonks, Festivals, Theatres and Amphitheaters, including numerous shows at The Allman Brothers Band Museum, "The Big House" in Macon, Georgia.
Idlewild South have played with members of The Allman Brothers Band, The Gregg Allman Band, The Marshall Tucker Band, Delbert McClinton, The Dickey Betts Band and Widespread Panic to name a few. Incidentally, our bass player Marty Privette played, recorded, and toured with The Dickey Betts Band. We also have a strong connection with GABBA, The Georgia Allman Brothers Band Association in Macon, GA and are part of the annual festival that draws people from all over the US and other countries to Macon for this event to pay homage of the ABB. And it has been going on for 30 years!
