Hillel at Virginia Tech presents the 18th Annual Daniel Pearl Music Day concert featuring Hot Chelle Rae and opener Struan on Thursday, November 14, 2024.

Show your support of Daniel Pearl Music Day, the legacy of his life and work, for tolerance and understanding through music and words.

Hot Chelle Rae is an American pop rock band formed in Nashville, Tennessee in 2005. Their music style is a blend of dance-rock, pop rock, alternative rock, and pop, characterized by catchy hooks, driving rhythms, and energetic live performances.

The band’s debut album, "Lovesick Electric", was released in 2009, but it was their 2011 single "Tonight Tonight" that brought them widespread attention and commercial success, peaking at #7 on the Billboard Hot 100. Another single, "I Like It Like That", peaked at No. 28 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the US.

Struan is an alt/indie pop musician originally from Virginia and a UVA graduate who now resides in Nashville, TN. His music is described as anthemic, energy, cathartic and wall puncher music.

Ticket prices have dropped. Advance tickets are $5.00 and $10.00 the day of the show.

Doors open at 6:00 PM and the concert starts at 7:00 PM.

Daniel Pearl Music Day is an international network of concerts that connects people through music. Daniel Pearl was a Jewish journalist and musician who was kidnapped and murdered in Pakistan in 2002. As he traveled the world, he connected with people through their shared love of music.
